About
An introduction
I'm an independent web developer living in Chicago (although I work with people across the country). I have over 6 years of experience in web design, development, and graphic design. I specialize in open-source platforms and work with small businesses, non-profit organizations, and entrepreneurs to find the best solutions for their technology needs.
Collaboration, not dictation
I work closely with all my clients. Each project you see in my portfolio is a product of detailed, open collaboration. I get to know each of my clients and their interests, goals, and passions, which translates into a high-quality website each time.
Creative solutions
Almost all of my clients are not-for-profit organizations and entrepreneurs. Often, they are driven by some sort of social mission. This means I strategize with them and offer solutions based on their specific needs and resources.
Open-source satisfaction
I specialize in free and open-source software (FOSS) for a number of good reasons. First and foremost, it's free! This means you, as a potential client, don't have to buy expensive third-party software to create your project. Your money is going directly to my services and expertise.
Does free mean sacrificing quality? Absolutely not. FOSS is flexible, expandable, and constantly being updated. Drupal is a fine example: an entire international community of skilled developers bring some of the best technology to your disposal. You can create anything from a simple blog to a large, user-driven community--all using integrated software.
